Alaska’s Online Notary — Calm, Clear, When It Matters Most

Cherissa Wieland, owner of Forget-Me-Not Notary Services, Alaska notary public

I'm Cherissa

Alaska Notary Public. Certified Signing Agent. Iñupiat woman whose family is from northwest Alaska — and someone who understands this state from the inside out.

I’m based in the Mat-Su Valley, serving Wasilla and Palmer businesses and families as my home community. I make scheduled visits to Anchorage. And through Remote Online Notarization, I’m available to anyone in Alaska — including the villages and remote communities that have always had the fewest options.

Built here. For here. For all of us.

How I help:

• Online notarization available anywhere in Alaska

• Mobile notary in Wasilla, Palmer, and the Mat-Su Valley

• Scheduled Anchorage appointments available

SECTION 2 — The Story

Why I Built This

My family is from northwest Alaska — my mom from Noorvik, my father from Point Hope. I know what it means to need something and have the nearest option be a plane ride away.

I know what it means to navigate important paperwork without easy access to professional services. I know what it means to live somewhere the rest of the country treats as an afterthought — and to need things done correctly anyway.

When my daughter Katie mentioned how often she’d needed a mobile notary — juggling four kids, a coffee shop, and a management role here in the Valley — and couldn’t find someone reliable, something clicked. She looked at me and said,

“Mom, you could do that.”

She was right.

I launched in July 2025 as Mat-Su Mobile Notary — focused locally, learning the market, showing up for every appointment with everything I had. Within the first few months, something became clear that no business plan had prepared me for.

The calls that came in most weren’t about real estate closings or business documents. They were about families.

A daughter calling from out of state, trying to get a power of attorney signed for her mother before a surgery. A hospice social worker asking if I could come to a patient’s home — gently, unhurriedly —  to notarize the will’s self‑proving affidavit. A caregiver coordinating an advance directive for someone who needed time, patience, and calm more than anything else.

These weren’t just notarizations.

They were some of the most important moments in people’s lives. And they needed someone who understood that.

By October 2025, I had learned enough to know that what I was building was bigger than one valley. I rebranded as Forget-Me-Not Notary Services — expanding to include mobile notary, Remote Online Notarization, and loan signing statewide. The name wasn’t just a rebrand. It was a promise:

your documents, your moment, your trust — not forgotten.

Today, the majority of my work is gentle care notarization — powers of attorney, wills, advance care directives — for elders, hospice patients, and the families supporting them.

It’s the work I didn’t expect to find. It’s the work I was made for.

SECTION 3 — The Gap I’m Filling

Most Alaskans Don’t Know This Option Exists

The more I learned, the bigger the gap became.

Alaska has had access to Remote Online Notarization — RON — for years. It means you can notarize documents securely from your phone, tablet, or computer, without leaving your home. No travel. No scheduling around someone else’s office hours. Available anywhere in the state with an internet connection.

This is how most of my statewide clients work with me today.

Most Alaskans have never heard of it.

The only providers offering RON here are large national companies — impersonal, unfamiliar with Alaska’s communities, and not built for the way people live in this state. They don’t know what it means to coordinate paperwork from a remote village. They don’t know what it’s like to need a notary when a loved one is in hospice and travel isn’t possible.

I do.

That’s what Forget-Me-Not Notary is built on. A local, community-rooted notary who already knows your world — and meets you in it. Wherever that is.

Who I help most:

● Families coordinating care or paperwork for loved ones

● Elders and hospice clients needing a calm, unhurried experience

● Busy professionals and businesses who need something handled efficiently

● Anyone in Alaska who can’t easily access a notary in person

SECTION 4 — What That Means for You

Notarization That Works Around Your Life

Most people don’t call a notary on their best day. They call because something important is happening — a business document that needs to move, a parent’s paperwork, a closing that can’t wait. Sometimes there’s urgency. Sometimes there’s grief. Sometimes there’s just confusion about what they even need.

Mobile notary is available throughout the Mat-Su Valley — Wasilla, Palmer, and surrounding areas. I come to you — your business, home, care facility, or hospital — with everything I need. I also make scheduled visits to Anchorage for clients who need in-person service there.

Either way, here’s what you get:

• No rushing. Every appointment moves at the pace you need.

• Plain language. Each step explained clearly — not legal advice, just honest guidance.

• Gentle, patient support — especially for elders, hospice clients, and families navigating difficult moments.

• A real person who knows Alaska. Call or text and I’ll help you figure out what you need.

•  Urgent availability may be possible for Mat-Su clients when scheduling allows.

Not sure which option fits? That’s exactly what I’m here for.
